Anisah Rasheed served as Miss North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University 2005-2006. She received her BS in Marketing from NC A&T in 2007 and a MBA from the University of Maryland University College in 2011.
As a freshman in college, Anisah took interest in becoming the Queen of NC A&T SU. It was then that she began to grow a special interest in learning about the legacy of the Miss A&T position and the women who previously served in that position. Anisah’s understanding of the value of the Miss A&T legacy inspired her to pursue at once the position, the history of the HBCU queen experience, and connections with former queens. From this came the passion to create an organization that would not only cultivate queen to queen relationships but also would become a focal point of erudition and dissemination for all who are interested in the HBCU queen experience.
Anisah is no stranger to business/organization management and working with youth. At the age of nine she became an entrepreneur by starting a very lucrative clown entertainment business. In 1999, she was named “Kidpreneur of the Year” by Black Enterprise magazine. She has received several awards and honors and has been featured in Black Enterprise, Working Woman, Essence magazine and Essence Book, “50 of the Most Inspiring African Americans.”
After working several years in the field of marketing, Anisah returned to entrepreneurship and is currently partnered in business with her mother as a personal finance professional. Over the years she has used her experiences, education and involvement in various organizations to position herself as a prominent businesswoman. She believes that attending an HBCU was one of the best decisions she ever made.
